I'm back from the land of netball.....and loving it

So for those who haven't been around to hear my whinging, here it is - I really can't stand netball!!!  I mean I really don't like it!!  But I have committed to doing it for 4 years!!!!  Yes that is right, 4 years folks, that is a long time and no I had no idea how it would drag at me and make me want to crawl walls with my teeth....but there you have it - a Lois Muir I will never be :)  Can you imagine me being able to hold my face in that poker face for a whole game????  Doubt it!!!  I am the coach on the sideline who is either shouting or chatting....have to be making some noise for it to be fun :)

Anyway.....the reason I am telling you about stinky netball is this.....it's finally over for at least 5 months and that means I get to catch up on blogging....

First up on the agenda in Sept 2013 was Bias' birthday.....our wee boy is such a delight.  He has the best sense of humour.....seriously......the other day he said to me "mum you solid (his fav description for me) and you fat...but me not allowed to say fat" ha ha...from the mouth of babes

Anyway we got to have his birthday alongside Kenny which was neat fun....heres some pics from the day.

The family stuffing their faces on Subway (a newly discovered awesome party food :)

Toni sporting the latest Hong Kong fashion - fork in hair

The birthday boy having a laugh

The cake - chosen by Bias (he loves soccer) - baked and decorated by Paul (he's super proud of this achievement, I tried to claim some credit but no he whipped it back)

Blowing out the candles on one cake

And the other cake....

After stuffing our faces with yummy food we headed to the
water park for some fun in the sun

I love coming to NZ for such a long time over our summer holidays, the only thing that is hard though is feeling like we miss summer year after year.....so I was super happy that summer seemed to be hanging about in Hong Kong in 2013.  Our outdoor pool is still....I repeat.....still not open.  That is 3 years of looking at this wonderful outdoor pool and not being allowed to go near it, even though it filled with water and glistening in the sun.  So the next best thing (when not at the Cricket Club :)  is to fill our pool
and take over our tiny deck with it.

It's just great homeschooling India and Tobias together.  So fantastic seeing how they play together and the fun things we do.  Dress ups are still a big hit round here.  Bias is always keen for a dress and India loves having another princess to play with her....

These were playdough creations that the kids made - kind of crazy....the thing we are
missing....heaps of shelves to hold things on

Another day we made faces out of balloons filled with flour....and then because they thought they looked so funny we had to pose pulling funny faces just like the balloon head

And then yeah Nana came to see us :)  We all love it when she comes over.  It was a busy time of year being just before Christmas so poor mum came along for the Hong Kong ride.  We took her to Stanley to see the beach and market....great fun.

We took her hiking over at Tai Po Forest - it was lovely....all misty and atmospheric
with these huge trees towering over us

We had just some days lazing at home.  The kids loved having two adults who can read to
them...play with them....so they don't have to share one mum.

It was great timing because Nana got to come and watch Noah's soccer
tournie....their team came runners up

We waved goodbye to Nana and had Christmas by ourselves here in Hong Kong
(actually was very nice, very peaceful and quiet)

While Paul was on holiday we did a hike Lamma Island.  I really liked it (would have liked it even better if I was minus three kids ha ha).  Very easy walk but interesting - I did make the whole family go the wrong way for half an hour or so....never been very good at navigating.....but there
was some forgiveness around the place.

And finally we have year passes to Disneyland so that is fun.  Never thought I would have them but they are great.  We went with Eliza and her mum and the girls dressed up in hope they would see their fav Princesses.  Well...we came across Snow White and she had a lovely chat to two speechless little girls (Bias wasn't having a bar of her) and then to make it even better we saw Alice (from Wonderland fame).  Very good as we had just been watching the movie for the letter A study we were doing.
